Disputes between private landlords and tenantsWhen a person pays to live in a house, apartment or mobile home, the tenant becomes a tenant subject to Florida law. It does not matter if the payment is made weekly, monthly or other regular periods. It also does not matter whether the apartment, house or mobile home is rented by an individual, a company or most government agencies.

ConsumersThe Consumer Law Department focuses on issues related to collection, seizure, repossession, contracts, consumer fraud, small claims courts, and debtor harassment. CLSMF may be able to help you if you believe that a creditor is mistakenly trying to seize your salary, bank account or other property. These are all common consumer law issues for which many do not know they have rights to the protection of their assets. In addition to providing legal advice or representation in specific cases involving consumer law, the clSMF consumer law team assists qualified individuals in preparing documents when faced with such consumer problems. Children and educationAccording to federal and state law, every child with a disability between the ages of 3 and 22 has the right to free and adequate public education. Does your child learn differently than other children? speak differently from other children? Do you need a lot of attention? Are you bored or lazy? Breaking the rules and not listening to you or the teachers? learning slowly? Do you have any mental or medical problems? walking or moving awkwardly? Do you have problems seeing or hearing? Has your child been suspended or deported? Sent to an alternative school? Retained/not advertised for any reason? The Special Education Act requires that a parent or parent of a child with a disability have the opportunity to participate in the education of that child. Under the Special Education Act, schools and school districts are responsible for identifying children suspected of having disabilities, assessing their needs to determine if they need special education services, providing free and adequate public education to children eligible for special education services with the least restrictive environment or educational placement, and children with disabilities.

Far too many low-income victims of domestic violence are forced to solve their complex legal problems with little or no help. The goal of CLSMF lawyers is to help these individuals with expert legal advice and emotional support. Eligible victims of domestic violence can receive free legal advice and representation to the following individuals: Custody Protection Orders/Child Visitation/Spousal Support Divorce Domestic Violence Related to Housing and Public Services Advocacy for SeniorsCLSMF Seniors Advocates Support For Seniors (over 60) who experience physical and financial abuse through the misuse of Money or property of seniors by another person A person has been exposed to bullying, sexual abuse or is deprived by a caregiver of food or medicine necessary for their survival. CLSMF Elder Advocates also helps seniors with other issues related to issues such as living wills, financial fraud, health care and continuing powers of attorney. The elder advocate meets the person at home or where it suits them.

Crimes against the elderly do not need to be reported to the police to receive our assistance. In many cases, our elder abuse advocates help provide information, recommendations, legal advice and/or representation. We also have a family care project. Free legal assistance is available if you are a family caregiver who takes care of the finances and activities of daily living of a person aged 55 or older. A grandparent, guardian or adult parent living with a child who is 18 years of age or younger and who is the primary caregiver of a child 18 years of age or younger. The Family Law Laws of the Community Legal Services of Mid-Florida (CLSMF) provide legal advice and representation to recent victims of domestic violence involved in custody disputes or dissolution of marriage (divorce). The CLSMF is also expanding its services to those who have not yet been victims of domestic violence, but who have a well-founded fear of becoming victims of domestic violence and who are involved in cases where custody or divorce is an issue. This may include parents of children who are at risk of abuse or neglect.
