Does coffee also contain yeast? How is it that coffee is legal but yeast is not? And besides, flax flour and flaxseed oil are different, right? Because I use flaxseed oil for my constipation, but I want to make sure it`s safe because I`m sure I can find other ways to «go» without flaxseed oil. I only use it about once a week anyway, but I`m just checking. I want to do it 100% according to the book. Most vinegars are legal, with the exception of balsamic vinegar (except homemade; some recipes exist online).

Re: muffins, I can`t eat eggs, so I replaced 1T of flax flour and 2T of water for each egg. Does a treat work in muffins, but I`m not sure about the legality of flax flour. The book does not mention it. I didn`t have a problem with that (only 3T of flax flour per batch of muffins), and I think being at the C and not D end of the spectrum was an advantage for me. Clues? The recipes are available online and in specialized cookbooks I have a question, how did you all do it? After the introductory diet, did you really take the time to add a new food every 3-4 days? I`m doing so well, but I think I really need to start this elimination because I keep thinking, okay, well, as long as it`s on the «legal» list, I`m fine. But this is obviously not the case. What are your stories? Especially those of you who have been here for some time? Do you REALLY follow this rule of adding food? I ask myself the same question. The first few days I stayed with the chicken soup and jell-0 and yogurt, but I added things arbitrarily because I was so hungry (all legal stuff!) Now I mostly stick to almond flour in muffins or bread, meat, cooked vegetables, and boiled fruit, except for a few fresh strawberries and bananas that I add to yogurt. It`s been 2 weeks since I started and I have no bloating, a little D, no cramps, but I get tired easily and in the late afternoon / evening I have this burning sensation in the intestines and sometimes nausea. These are probably the ulcerations I know I have, but I wonder if the foods I eat make things worse or if the diet helps me overall.

The main argument was that the body does not get enough short-chain fatty acids in the diet, as these are mainly found in starchy vegetables and doctors have stated that the long-term effects could potentially be bad without SCFAs. And while we avoid things like rice and potatoes that are healthy, the SAD (index), the standard American diet is 1,000,000,000,000,000 times worse! Hello!!!!!!!!!!! That`s all I can find on flaxseed and flaxseed oil. At home, there are still many hard-boiled colored eggs, but dye tablets contain cellulose gum and maltodextrin. They are gluten-free, but I don`t know how much the shell can penetrate. It seems unlikely that maltodextrin/cellulose can, but I hesitate to eat the eggs because they are «blue». To be honest, the reason I started getting into it was because they pretty much only eat what I can eat anyway, so their «cookbooks» opened up this whole new world of amazing and delicious recipes, all made from paleo foods I wasn`t allergic to. Plus, I ate a lot more raw carbs than usual, but I lost 0.2 pounds a day at a steady pace. The idea that I can eat as much fruit as I want (I LOOOOVE fruit!) and not gain weight is very appealing! Plus, I travel a lot, and the idea of eating raw makes so much sense to someone who`s not at home but can`t eat out anymore. However, I couldn`t be completely believed, because if the price of sashimi doesn`t drop, it would mean being vegan and I feel better with meat in my diet. There`s a guy who`s kept his chron in remission (drug-free) with SCD since 1997, and his blog (www.glassbird.com/scd/) has several references to eating flax seeds. While I can see how the seeds might be the system initially, I don`t think they will stop the diet from working. Flaxseed flour is no harder on the system than almond flour once you`re at the muffin stage, and in cases where people have C instead of D, I think it`s probably very beneficial.
